Our Story
The Tingalings is a Mabel's Enterprise brand.
Mabel's Enterprise was born during the COVID-19 lockdown. It is run by Matt and his 92-year-old Grandma Mabel. In Matt's eyes, Mabel is the perfect person to spearhead a social enterprise with big ambitions. She is a kind, warm and very strong lady who has overcome adversity at multiple stages of her very long life.
Mabel was born into poverty in the Great Depression of the 1920s. Then came the horrors of World War II, a very unpleasant evacuation and the Coventry Blitz. She forged a better post-war life, got married and had two children before losing her husband and sole life partner at 56. She defeated cancer at 88.
She has come out the other side with big smiles and lots of love. Her warmth, kindness and positive outlook is an inspiration to all. Now she wants to help children who are facing difficult times, like she did.
All profits generated by The Tingalings pay for school trips for children living in the highest pockets of poverty in the UK. Check out our impact in this short video:
